  • Differentiating short-term state, long-term memory, and knowledge sources
  • Deciding what agents should store, retrieve, or discard
  • Applying least-privilege access and guardrails
  • Designing human-in-the-loop checkpoints to reduce risk and maintain accountability
  • Evaluating agent outputs and diagnosing issues
  • Monitoring agent behavior using step-level and end-to-end performance signals
  • Communicating uncertainty or failures to human operators (practiced via CompTIA’s Agent Simulator)
